The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has successfully conducted a door-to-door campaign in the North Henveiru constituency, as part of its ongoing preparations for the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections.
In addition to the candidates, several former members of Parliament participated in the event held on Monday night.
Speaking during a door-to-door campaign event, Male' City Mayor Adam Azim, who is seeking re-election on the MDP ticket, characterized the current administration as one that inflicts hardship on its citizens. He stated that the public must reject those who turn a deaf ear to their concerns and refuse to listen to their voices. Azim further noted that the people are increasingly disillusioned with the government's actions.
"We are the MDP, and we are a party that listens to the people. We will never act against the interests of the citizens. The government's track record, however, is one defined by cruelty and negligence," Azim said.
