Ahmed Abdulla, the former Member of Parliament for the Baarash constituency, has stated that citizens must vote for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in the upcoming local council and Women's Development Committee elections to reclaim the public's lost power and remove the obstacles hindering island development.
During a campaign visit to HA. Dhidhdhoo as part of a delegation led by MDP President Abdulla Shahid and other party leaders, Ahmed Abdulla told RaajjeMV that the public must reject the PNC in the upcoming council elections to address the growing anxiety and unease across the nation. He emphasized that to reclaim the power lost by the people and overcome the obstacles hindering island development, voters must say "no" to the PNC and cast their ballots for the MDP on April 4th.
During our ongoing visits to the islands, the most prominent observation is the deep-seated unease and concern within our communities. There is significant apprehension regarding the current administration's failure to initiate any new development projects despite the vast state budget at its disposal. Furthermore, the public is expressing grave concerns over the misappropriation of public funds and the government's failure to deliver on its promises, among various other grievances.Ahmed Abdulla, the former Member of Parliament for the Baarah constituency.
Furthermore, Ahmed Abdulla stated that the upcoming referendum—proposed by the government to consolidate two major elections through what he described as a deceptive and calculated scheme—presents a crucial opportunity for the public. He urged citizens to decisively defeat the government by voting against the proposal, thereby demonstrating their opposition to the current administration, withdrawing their support, and working to reclaim sovereign power back into the hands of the people.
Ahmed Abdulla stated that the prevailing sentiment and enthusiasm observed across the islands reflect a growing public resolve to speak out boldly and without hesitation against the current administration.
