President Muizzu congratulates the Prime Minister of Japan
The Maldivian President wished the Japanese Prime Minister success and good health, while expressing his hopes for the continued peace and prosperity of the Japanese people.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, has extended his warmest congratulations to Her Excellency Sanae Takaichi on her election as the Prime Minister of Japan.
In his letter to the Prime Minister, the President stated that her re-election by the country’s legislature is a testament to the full confidence and trust placed in her leadership, experience, and competence. He further noted that her administration is well-positioned to steer Japan toward continued progress and development.
Furthermore, the President noted that 2027 will mark the 60th anniversary of the long-standing friendship and close ties between the Maldives and Japan. He emphasized that the Maldivian people remain sincerely grateful for Japan's continuous support toward the nation's socio-economic development.
The President further expressed his commitment to strengthening the existing bilateral ties for the benefit of the people of both nations during the Prime Minister's new term in office.
The President concluded his letter by wishing the Prime Minister success and good health, while expressing his hopes for the continued peace and prosperity of the Japanese people.
