President Muizzu has returned to Malé after briefing German companies on investment opportunities available in the Maldives
During President Muizzu’s visit to Germany at the invitation of the German President, high-level discussions were held to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance economic investments. In addition to signing an agreement to promote Maldivian tourism, the President delivered keynote addresses on climate change and foreign policy.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Male' after briefing German companies on the investment opportunities available in the Maldives.
His Excellency is undertaking this official visit at the invitation of the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Reliable sources have confirmed that a delegation of 22 officials accompanied President Muizzu during his visit from February 9 to 13. However, the President's Office has not disclosed specific details regarding the individuals who participated in the trip.
During the official talks held as part of this visit, the President and President Steinmeier agreed to further expand and sustain formal dialogue between the two nations. The meeting primarily focused on strengthening bilateral relations within the international arena and diversifying cooperation on matters of mutual interest through high-level consultations and formal agreements.
During the visit, the Maldives-Germany Business Roundtable was held to provide information on the various opportunities available for German companies in the Maldives. Speaking at the roundtable, the President highlighted the government’s economic policies and invited German firms to invest in the Maldives at a time when the nation is diversifying its economy and expanding its commercial horizons. The Maldives-Germany Business Roundtable also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Visit Maldives and DERTOUR Deutschland GmbH, one of Europe’s leading travel and tourism groups. This agreement aims to foster cooperation in destination promotion and marketing efforts.
During this visit, the President visited Humboldt University in Berlin, where he delivered a keynote address highlighting the Maldives' experiences in building climate resilience. Furthermore, he delivered a speech at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) regarding the role of oceans in foreign policy.
During this visit, the President attended an official banquet held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Germany. The event was attended by the President’s delegation, senior officials from the German government, and members of the diplomatic corps based in Berlin. A number of Maldivians residing in Germany also participated in the banquet. During the gathering, the President held separate meetings with the Maldivian citizens in attendance, providing them with the opportunity to share their concerns directly.
