The clash between New Radiant Sports Club and Odi Sports Club in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) ended in a goalless draw.
The match, held on Tuesday afternoon at the Galolhu National Stadium, saw both teams create multiple opportunities but ultimately fail to break the deadlock.
In the first half, New Radiant’s Ali “Sentey” Fasir missed a clear chance to score, while foreign player Gomez da Silva also failed to convert a significant opportunity. New Radiant continued to press for a breakthrough, but Odi created their own chances and were equally unable to find the back of the net.
In the closing stages, New Radiant intensified their attacks in an attempt to secure a late winner. The team generated two notable opportunities, including a strike from substitute Ali “Dhagandey” Ashfaq, which was expertly saved by the Odi goalkeeper, keeping the scoreline level.
Following the draw, Odi Sports Club maintains its second-place position in the league table with 29 points from 13 matches. New Radiant occupies third place with 24 points. In their previous encounter during the first round, Odi had emerged victorious over New Radiant.
The stalemate further solidifies Maziya Sports and Recreation’s position at the top of the table, with the team currently leading the league with 37 points from 13 matches.
