Odi defeats UV, secures second place
Reigning champions Maziya Sports and Recreation currently lead the league with 31 points from the same number of matches, with the gap between the two teams now just three points.

Odi Sports Club has made a major move in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) standings, securing a dominant 5-1 victory over United Victory (UV) in their second-round matchup.
The match, played on Friday evening at Galolhu National Stadium, saw Odi take control with one goal in the first half and four more in the second. UV managed to score their only goal in the latter stages of the match.
Odi took the lead in the 27th minute thanks to an own goal by UV’s Mohamed Samhaan. Just before halftime, Odi extended their advantage with a second goal, scored by foreign player Karolis Laukzemis, ending the first half with a 2-0 lead.
The second half saw Odi continue their dominant performance. Just three minutes after the restart, Laukzemis netted his second goal of the match, pushing Odi’s lead to 3-0. In the 57th minute, Muzdhaan Hassan added a fourth goal for Odi, and five minutes later, Ahmed Aiham made it 5-0.
UV managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute through a header by foreign player Ali Al Shazly, following a well-placed assist from a teammate.
With this win, Odi Sports Club has now accumulated 28 points from 11 matches, securing second place in the standings.
