Defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation Club have strengthened their position at the top of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League with a commanding 5–0 victory over Club Valencia at the Galolhu National Stadium.
Maziya opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Mohamed Ilaan Imran, who later doubled the lead just three minutes into the second half.
The champions maintained relentless pressure as foreign forward Sergio Iglesias added the third in the 55th minute, followed swiftly by Ahmed Aiham’s strike three minutes later. Iglesias sealed the win with his second goal in stoppage time, completing a five-goal triumph.
The result keeps Maziya firmly in first place, maintaining their perfect record with six wins from six matches and a total of 18 points. They remain the only unbeaten and all-winning side in the league so far, setting a strong pace in the title race.
