Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League
Last-minute goal secures TC a point against Buru
Buru’s draw prevented them from climbing higher, leaving them in sixth with eight points.

In Sunday night’s Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) clash, TC Sports Club earned a crucial point against Buru Sports Club thanks to a last-minute goal. The match at Galolhu Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

The first half saw both teams working hard to break the deadlock, but neither was able to convert their chances into goals.

All action came in the second half. Buru took the lead in the 74th minute when Brazilian forward Hudson Diaz scored a stunning goal following an interception from TC’s area during a counter-attack.

TC responded dramatically in stoppage time. Mohamed Danish Ibrahim found the net after Abdul Wahid Ibrahim’s delivery deflected off the post, securing a late equalizer for the home side.

Following this fixture, DDPL will take a brief pause until November 22, due to the Maldives National Team’s crucial AFC Asian Cup Qualifying match against the Philippines on November 18. League action will resume with a match between Maziya and Victory.

Maziya Sports and Recreation currently leads the premier league, having won all seven of their matches and accumulated 21 points. New Radiant Sports Club sits second with 17 points, followed closely by Odi Sports Club in third with 16 points.

Club Eagles holds fourth place with nine points, while Victory Sports Club is fifth with the same tally. Buru’s draw prevented them from climbing higher, leaving them in sixth with eight points. Valencia occupies seventh with seven points. United Victory (eighth), TC (ninth), and Club Green Streets (tenth) have each earned four points so far.
