Hampu’s late strike keeps Maziya’s perfect record intact
The victory cements Maziya’s position at the top of the table with 21 points from seven straight wins. Odi remain in second place with 16 points from seven matches.

Maziya Sports & Recreation Club has continued their unstoppable run in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League with a dramatic 1–0 victory over Odi Sports Club, thanks to a last-gasp goal from star forward Hamza “Hampu” Mohamed. The win keeps Maziya’s flawless record alive, with seven wins from seven matches this season.

Played under the Friday night lights at Galolhu Stadium, the clash saw both sides create early chances in an evenly contested first half. Despite several close calls at both ends, neither team could find the breakthrough before the halftime whistle, leaving the scoreline goalless after 45 minutes.

Maziya came out stronger in the second half, tightening their play and piling pressure on Odi’s defense with a series of sharp attacks. Odi’s backline held firm through regulation time, keeping the league leaders at bay as the clock ticked into stoppage time.

Then came the decisive moment. In the fourth minute of added time, Hampu sliced through two Odi defenders and unleashed a fierce effort that was initially parried by goalkeeper Shafeeu. Moments later, the forward seized a loose ball, skipped past Shafeeu, and calmly slotted home to seal the win for Maziya.

The victory cements Maziya’s position at the top of the table with 21 points from seven straight wins. Odi remain in second place with 16 points from seven matches, narrowly ahead of New Radiant Sports Club, who sit third with 16 points from six games but trail on goal difference.
