Maziya extends league lead after victory over UV

Defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation has further tightened their grip on the top of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League standings with an exciting victory over United Victory (UV).
Playing at the Galolhu National Stadium, Maziya delivered a spirited performance to secure a 2-1 win.
The champions took control of the match early, opening the scoring in the first half before extending their advantage in the second.
Although United Victory managed to reduce the deficit late in the game, Maziya’s two-goal cushion proved decisive.
The breakthrough came in the 30th minute of the first half when Hamza “Hampu” Mohamed found the net to give Maziya the lead.
As the match neared its conclusion, Naaiz “Dhaadhu” Hassan struck again in the 88th minute, doubling Maziya’s advantage just moments before the end of regulation time.
United Victory responded during stoppage time with their lone goal of the match. Foreign player Mohamed Samir seized an opportunity from outside the penalty area, firing a low shot into the net to give UV a late boost.
Elsewhere in the league, Victory Sports Club and Club Valencia battled to a 1-1 draw. Valencia struck first through their foreign player Stefan Blonc, but Victory showed resilience by leveling the score in the dying moments, with Safraz Ibrahim netting the equalizer during added time.
