Alifushi beats Malé City, secures quarterfinals spot

The team from Alifushi island of Raa atoll has defeated the team from Malé City in the final match of the group stage of the second round of the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
With this win, Alifushi has secured the first place in Group H and a spot in the quarterfinals.
In the match played on Monday evening at the Galolhu National Stadium, Alifushi won 3 – 1.
Malé City scored the first goal of the match and took the lead. However, Alifushi came from behind, scoring three goals to win the match.
Malé City took the lead in the second minute of the match with a header from Ali Shareef. Before the end of the first half, Alifushi equalized the score. With three minutes remaining in the first half's full time, Mohamed Rasheed equalized for his team by converting a free kick awarded to Alifushi.
In the 12th minute of the second half, Ibrahim Salaam gave Alifushi the lead. Shortly after, Ahmed Husham scored Alifushi’s third goal, extending their lead.
