Fuvahmulah advances to quarterfinals by luck of the draw

In the group stage of the second round of the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup, Fuvahmulah City has secured a spot in the quarterfinals through a successful draw.
In Group E of the tournament, along with Fuvahmulah, there were K. Guraidhoo and Th. Thimarafushi. After all the matches in the group concluded, Guraidhoo advanced to the quarterfinals in first place. Fuvahmulah and Thimarafushi were tied in points and were also equal in all other aspects.
With this, according to the tournament rules, the team advancing to the quarterfinals was determined by a draw. In the draw held on Sunday evening at the Galolhu National Stadium, Fuvahmulah won the opportunity to advance to the quarterfinals. Consequently, Thimarafushi was eliminated from the tournament. Fuvahmulah City, with its strong squad, won all four matches played in the first round. The team also qualified for the second round as the top team.
