The team from Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll has triumphed over the team from Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll in the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
Dhidhdhoo went head-to-head with Maafushi at the Galolhu National Stadium on Wednesday night, in a match of Group F in the second round of the tournament.
Dhidhdhoo won the game 2 – 0.
Before Wednesday’s match, Maafushi won their first match against B. Eydhafushi. The match against Maafushi was Dhidhdhoo's first match in the second round.
Dhidhdhoo scored both their goals in the first half of the match. Six minutes into the match, Dhidhdhoo took the lead by scoring a goal. Ahuzam Rasheed scored the goal for the team. Later, in the 36th minute of the first half, Adam Azim scored the team's second goal, extending their lead.
