The team from Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll has won over the team from Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll in the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
Maafushi and Eydhafushi went head-to-head at the Galolhu National Stadium on Monday night.
The Group F match ended with Maafushi winning 2 – 0.
Prior to Monday’s match, Eydhafushi had won all three of their previous matches in the tournament. In this round, Maafushi had also played three matches, winning one, losing one, and drawing one.
Ibrahim Atheeq Hassan gave Maafushi the lead in the first half of the match. Maafushi scored their second goal in the second half of the match. Ismail Mafaz scored the goal for Maafushi during the added time after the full time of the match. He had entered the game as a substitute player.
