The team from Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll has secured a spot in the quarterfinals by winning their match against the team from Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll in the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament's second round group stage.

In Group F, Eydhafushi had lost their first match against K. Maafushi. Dhidhdhoo had won against Maafushi in their first match. Therefore, for Eydhafushi to qualify for the quarterfinals, they needed to defeat Dhidhdhoo by a margin of three goals in their final match.

Eydhafushi won the match played on Saturday evening at the Galolhu National Stadium 4 – 1.

Eydhafushi scored one goal in the first half to take the lead, and in the second half, they scored three more goals to take control of the match. Dhidhdhoo managed to score one goal in the latter part of the second half.

Eydhafushi, who began the match well, scored their first goal in the 21st minute. Ali Naseem scored the goal for the team. In the second half, Eydhafushi's Jaushan Mohamed scored the team's second goal, extending their lead. Later, with five minutes left in regular time, Mohamed Faasir scored the winning team’s third goal. In stoppage time, he went on to score the fourth goal of the team. Dhidhdhoo's only goal was scored by Hussain Zimyan during stoppage time.

With this victory, Eydhafushi advanced to the quarterfinals as the top team in the group. The team has three points from two matches, leading on goal difference. Maafushi and Dhidhdhoo also have three points each from the same number of matches, finishing second and third respectively. Maafushi secured the second quarterfinal spot from the group due to their superior goal difference.
