Fuvahmulah City has maintained their winning streak by defeating Faresmaathoda in the final group stage match of the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
Fuvahmulah went head-to-head with Faresmaathoda at the Galolhu National Stadium on Wednesday night.
Fuvahmulah beat Faresmaathoda in the final match of Group A with an impressive score of 5 – 0.
Fuvahmulah had already secured a place in the second round of the tournament before Wednesday’s game.
The team has been performing well in the tournament.
In the match against Faresmaathoda, Fuvahmulah's goals were scored by foreign player, Kofi Owusu who has played in the Maldives before and has been performing exceptionally well in the Gold Cup tournament.
In Wednesday’s game, he scored three goals, completing a hat-trick. Fuvahmulah's Mohamed Iyaash Ahmed also scored a goal in the game. The other goal for Fuvahmulah was an own goal by a Faresmaathoda player.
With this victory, Fuvahmulah has topped Group A. They have won all four matches in the group stage, accumulating 12 points. HA. Dhidhdhoo is in second place with three points. Dh.
