President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met the European Union Observer Mission.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, at the President-elect's Office.
During the meeting, Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by the Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
Speaking with the mission, the president-elect thanked the EUOM for the attention given to the Maldivian Presidential Election. He expressed hope that the work of the observer mission would help further strengthen the electoral process of the country.
Additionally, Muizzu stated that he would further strengthen the governance of the independent institutions and ensure their independence during his tenure.
The EUOM welcomed the peaceful and smooth progress of the elections and the transitional phase. They also presented the report on the presidential election to the President-elect.
