President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that his administration would work to strengthen the special relationship between India and Maldives.
Dr. Muizzu stated this during his meeting with the Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar.
The meeting took place on Wednesday, and Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by the Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
The meeting also saw Dr. Muizzu expressing hope to take the relationship between the two countries to a new level.
The president-elect also expressed confidence that India would give full cooperation to the Maldives in protecting it's sovereign independence. He also requested the Indian government to make it easier to repay the loans.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Munu Mahawar assured that the Indian government will fully respect the sovereignty of Maldives.
