President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Lixin.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, and Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by the Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.

During the meeting, Dr. Muizzu sought China's assistance in fulfilling his presidential pledges and expressed gratitude for the Chines assistance in the development of the Maldives.

The Chinese Ambassador expressed hope that the Maldives-China relationship will be strengthened under Dr. Muizzu's tenure. She emphasized that China will offer Maldives with complete assistance and cooperation in various fields for its development in the future.

The meeting saw President-elect and the Chinese Ambassador holding discussions on ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations of Maldives-China.
