President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met the High Commissioner of Australia to the Maldives, David Jessup.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, at the President-elect's Office.
Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by the Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
During the meeting, the President-elect, expressed his hope to further strengthen relations with Australia during his tenure.
Dr. Muizzu also noted the close relations between Maldives and Australia in various fields.
Additionally, Dr. Muizzu thanked the Australian government for providing higher education opportunities to Maldivian students and for its assistance in the country's human resource development
In his speech, the Australian Ambassador assured the their full support and cooperation in various areas of joint efforts to further strengthen the Maldives-Australia relationship.
