Ambassador Shaheeb presents credentials to King of Bhutan

Ibrahim Shaheeb has presented his credentials as the new Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Shaheeb presented his Letter of Credence to the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on Wednesday.

The credentials ceremony was held at the Grand Kuenray at Tashichhodzong.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck congratulated Ambassador Shaheeb upon receiving his credentials and expressed confidence that he would work to solidify the close ties between the Maldives and Bhutan.

At the audience with the King of Bhutan, Ambassador Shaheeb extended greetings and sincere good wishes to the King of Bhutan, on behalf of the government, people of Maldives and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The Maldivian ambassador highlighted that it was a privilege to have the opportunity to work towards the mutual benefit of both countries.

The ambassador went on to assure the King that he remains committed to work closely in order to further enhance the existing cordial partnership.

Shaheeb assured his commitment to work closely with the government of Bhutan to further strengthen the close relations between the two countries, as the newly accredited ambassador.

Shaheeb will also pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering and Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Bhutan Dr. Tandi Dorji, at separate events.

In Bhutan, Ambassador Shaheeb will also hold meetings with senior government officials.

First Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in India Mohamed Najeel is accompanying Shaheeb.
