Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the construction of the revetment of boat beaching area of Velidhoo Island of Noonu Atoll is near completion.

Highlighting that the Velidhoo Boat Beaching Area project is well underway, MTCC noted that construction of revetment and breakwater is currently ongoing, with 88 percent and 25 percent completion respectively.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out land reclamation operations of 1.5 hectares and level 138,247 square meters of the reclaimed area.

The company will also be constructing a revetment measuring 214 meters and a 100-meter breakwater.

The Velidhoo Boat Beaching Area Project is valued at MVR 19.4 million.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC on 6 April 2021.

The project was contracted to be completed within 280 days.
