Former President Abdulla Yameen has characterized Eagle Hills as an opportunistic entity exploiting a morally bankrupt administration that has lost the public's confidence.
President Yameen made these remarks in a post on the social media platform "X." He stated that the project to settle Zionists within a hundred percent Muslim society that advocates for Palestinian rights exposes their hypocrisy and malice.
Calling for the cessation of the Ras Male' project, President Yameen stated that the Maldivian people harbor nothing but hatred and resentment toward the initiative.
Furthermore, President Yameen countered Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla, asserting that any project designed to facilitate the settlement of Zionists is entirely devoid of substance.
President Yameen’s remarks come amid growing public concern over the allocation of a significant portion of Ras Male' to the company Eagle Hills. The issue has drawn intense public scrutiny and criticism, particularly following the circulation of interviews on social media suggesting that the company’s chairman, Mohamed Alabbar, maintains ties with Israel.
In a recent interview circulating on social media, Alabbar stated that no party has consulted him regarding the reconstruction of Gaza. He further noted that his personal philosophy is that everyone should be responsible for cleaning up their own mess.
