Rescue officers have helped passengers of a small boat (or dinghy) that were stranded off of Gaaf Dhaalu atoll.

The passengers were reportedly tavelling from Vaadoo to Thinadhoo island in Gaaf Dhaalu atoll when the engine stopped running.

The boat was left stranded near Maahutti island on Sunday. The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the incident was reported at 14:30, and rescue officers were able to escort the passengers to safety four hours later at 18:30.

None of the passengers had it been injured.
