Two Covid-19 fatalities have been reported from the Shaviyani Covid Management Facility.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported the deaths after sundown on Saturday.
As such, the 295th victim was identified as a 79-year-old Maldivian woman who was pronounced dead by doctor at around 03:22pm on Tuesday.
The latest victim was a man, 78 years of age, who succumbed to complications of Covid-19 at 04:55pm on Friday.
20 Covid-19 fatalities have been reported so far in February.
The two fatalities have been confirmed two days after the last death was reported.
The total number of Covid-19 fatalities reported this year has been pushed to 34; 14 victims were confirmed in January.
The island nation reported the highest number of deaths in a single month since the pandemic began, during May 2021, when a total of 88 deaths were confirmed. June saw 50 Covid-19 fatalities, followed by 10 in July. Five Covid-19 fatalities were confirmed in August and in September. 12 Covid-19 fatalities were reported in October followed by seven in November. December also saw 12 Covid-19 fatalities.
212 Covid-19 victims were reported last year.
