Have identified the two culprits
2 Suspects in Blogger and Activist Yaamyn Rasheed's Murder
Maldives Police Service (MPS) says that they have been able to identify two culprits behind the murder of popular blogger and social activist, Yameen Rasheed.
The Police made the revelation in a press conference held on Tuesday regarding the investigation into his death.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Nawaz said that they have analyzed the CCTV footage of the scene. He said that they have collected physical evidence and begun questioning individuals regarding the case. Nawaz said that they have been able to identify two of the culprits. He added that Police were now enhancing the CCTV footage to identify the others seen on the footage.
Nawaz had shared the picture of the culprits adding that no additional information can be shared as it was on going case.
However, Nawaz assured that Police will bring the culprits to justice.
The press conference was concluded without giving the press an opportunity to ask any questions. Police later admitted that the timing on the video and the time they first said as the time of death do not match.
