Strong support for TEAM’s petition as employees from 42 resorts sign within a single day

A petition launched by the Tourism Employees Association of Maldives (TEAM) opposing the payment of resort salaries and service charges in Maldivian Rufiyaa is gaining significant momentum as part of an effort to safeguard workers' rights and income. The association is calling on the government to halt proposed regulatory changes that would mandate the conversion of a portion of foreign currency earnings into local currency, effectively ending the practice of paying employees in US Dollars.
