PG Office withdraws charges against Adhlan, arrested for allegedly selling child pornography

Despite police investigations uncovering a significant volume of explicit material on his electronic devices, authorities have yet to disclose the reason for dropping the case.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has withdrawn charges against Adhlan, who was arrested on allegations of selling child pornography through cryptocurrency.
The individual arrested in connection with this case has been identified as 22-year-old Adam Adhlan Latheef of Moonimaage, Th. Vilufushi. He was taken into custody under a court order on April 5, 2024.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has filed charges against the individual under Section 246 of the Penal Code for the intentional possession of child pornography on a computer system or data storage medium. Additionally, the defendant faces charges under Section 622 of the Penal Code for the production of pornographic material.
According to a report by Adhadhu news, citing a reliable source, the decision has been made to withdraw the case, and the charges have already been retracted from court. RaajjeTV’s efforts to obtain further information regarding this matter have so far been unsuccessful. Although a message was sent to the Prosecutor General’s media official, no response has been received.
