Those who travelled from Dhevvadhoo island in Gaaf Alif atoll to the Maldives capital, Malé City after 30 November 2020, have been urged to quarantine themselves.

Following a Covid-19 outbreak in the island, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has been imposing safety measures in order to curb the spread of the infection.

As such, in an announcement on Saturday night, the public health authority urged those who travelled from Dhevvadhoo island to other residential islands after November 30, to isolate themselves and avoid attending school, workplaces and going outdoors until they receive negative Covid-19 test results.

These individuals have been urged to provide samples for Covid-19 testing, to the flu clinics in Malé Hiyaa, Hulhumalé and Villimalé and remain indoors in quarantine, until they’re test results come back negative.

Further, those who have travelled to residential islands from Dhevvadhoo island within the past 14 days have been urged to conduct PCR testing and quarantine until the required 14-days are up, as per protocol.

Four symptomatic individuals who travelled to Fonadhoo island from Dhevvadhoo had recently tested positive to the virus, after the outbreak was discovered by authorities.

Dhevvadhoo island was brought under monitoring after 10 tested positive.
