Maldives reported 68 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, pushing the country’s total case count to 12,452.

While the 68 cases are from the 1,530 samples tested within 24 hours, 40 are foreigners.

36 of the cases are from the greater Male’ region and the remaining from other islands or resorts.

With an additional 69 recoveries announced, a total of 11,475 patients have recovered from the virus thus far.

While there are 925 active Covid-19 cases in the island nation, this includes in 11 inhabited island and 27 resorts. Among the active cases are 46 tourists and 110 staff members.

73 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals, while 45 patients have succumbed to the virus since April.
