50 cases of sexual violence against minors had been reported within the past month of March alone, the Ministry of Gender and Family has said.

The Ministry’s records state that 50 out of a total 279 cases filed in March were to do with sexual violence against children. The Gender Ministry further specified that of these 50 cases, 40 have to do with abuse against underage girls.

A total of 41 cases over negligence and 26 cases over physical violence against children had also been filed, while an additional 44 cases had to do with violence against women.  

The Minsitry had further received cases of psychological abuse and 11 cases of neglect towards to the elderly.
