Covid-19 cases in Kudakurathu resort being developed in Raa atoll, has risen to 57.

The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) made the reveal via a press briefing on Monday night, where the center’s spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed that 90 samples were collected from the island, in total.

Four out of the samples returned positive on October 23 which was followed by 52 additional cases on October 25. Another sample tested positive on Monday, said Nazla.

Earlier, HEOC revealed that 63 infections were confirmed from the island, however, the spokesperson revealed that the number is not accurate, during Monday’s presser.

One of the positive patients in Kudakurathu have since been transferred to the Covid-19 Facility in Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll for treatment.

This comes at a time Ungoofaaru island in the same atoll has been placed under monitoring following the confirmation of a Covid-19 case in the island.
