Contractor of the Kulhudhufushi Regional Hospital renovation project, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the project is well underway.

MTCC revealed that the project has seen 18 percent progress thus far and that they have completed the casting of the lift-wall located on the first floor of the ward building.

The city council’s president, Abdul Latheef Hassan has since revealed that the project has brought hope for the people. He told RaajjeMV that the issue of space shortage in the hospital has been of rising concern and that they started off with a 50-bed-capacity ward.

Highlighting that the project gives people hope of enhanced health amenities, the council president stated that every island community wishes for progress in the health sector.

Further, he stressed that every administration pledges to enhance the health sector, but most of the time fails to deliver. However, the incumbent administration is delivering its pledge to the island communities, well.

The renovation of Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital was mobilized on May 17 and the project is valued at MVR 30.3 million.
