Additional five people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives.

This was revealed at Tuesday night’s press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).

While a total of 21 new cases have been reported so far on Tuesday, this pushes the country’s total case count to 250. Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz said these are 99 Maldivians and 151 foreigners.

A community spread was detected in the capital on April 15, and since then cases have been confirmed in Uligan island of Haa Alifu atoll as well as Narudhoo and Milandhoo islands in Shaviyani atoll.
