Two workers at the medical facility under development at Hulhumalé have tested positive for Covid-19.
Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz has confirmed this to RaajjeMV. However, he did not disclose any further details.
Those involved in the development work include officers of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), employees of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Fenaka Corporation Limited as well as individuals from private companies and other volunteers.
Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abdulla Shamaal said that the five-block facility will have 19 rooms and 290-beds. Construction work has been completed in two blocks.
MVR 36 million has been spent on the development of the facility, including MVR 19.5 million on required medical equipment.
