The Maldives National University (MNU) has waived hostel fees for the months of March and April.

According to MNU, the university has decided to waive hostel fees for the months of March and April in light of all educational institutions being shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, the Cabinet of Ministers determined to close all government offices, schools and educational institutions across the Maldives for a third week, as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had previously announced that government offices, schools and all educational institutions will be closed for a week from 19 March to 26 March, however, it was extended on 25 March to an additional week.
