Maldives National University (MNU) has merged Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSL) and Islamic faculty.

The new faculty is titled Faculty of Law and Islamic Studies.

Previously a senior official of FSL reported to RaajjeMV that Law will become a part of the School of Business, while Shariah aspect will become part of Islamic Faculty. Therefore, Shariah and Law students will have to complete their semesters from two faculties.

Around 300 students currently study various programs under FSL.
