First Maldivian Covid-19 patient reported from UAE
Maldivian among 50 new cases in UAE
It’s Ministry of Health and Prevention announced this in a statement on Tuesday
The new cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, or individuals that returned from abroad

A Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19 in the United Arab Emirates.

Its Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that a Maldivian national is among the 50 new positive coronavirus cases in the country, on Tuesday.

The ministry announced the new cases in a statement, as well as the recovery of four patients, adding that the new cases “are among individuals who had close contact with cases announced previously, as well as people who returned from abroad”.

“All individuals in question are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care”

This is the first Maldivian to have been reported to have tested positive for Covid-19.

With the 50 new cases on Tuesday, UAE now has a total of 248 confirmed cases.

Maldives’ Foreign Ministry said that they are looking into this.
