Maldives National Defence Force's (MNDF) Commanders Conference 2020 has reached a successful conclusion.
During the closing ceremony, Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi delivered a speech as the ceremony's guest of honour. Her speech was followed by an address from Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abdulla Shamaal.
The Commanders Conference is a programme conducted by the Chief of Defence Force under the instruction of the Minister of Defence with the aim of professionalising and modernising the country's defence force. As such, the conference focuses on developing holistic guidelines to improve MNDF's capability, readiness and mission effectiveness.
The conference - held from the 17th to 20th February - was attended by general officers, service commandants, commanders of various ranks, command sergeant majors, warrant officers and senior enlisted leaders.
The conference featured discussions regarding MNDF's operational readiness, avenues to increase future operational capacity and tactical level operational effectiveness as well as the importance of enlisted leaders.
