FM extends condolences on death of long-term employee
 
Asif had served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 29 years.
 
He also personally called Asif's family and close relatives to extend his sympathies as well.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has extended his condolences on the death of Ibrahim Asif, the 2nd Secretary of Maldives High Commission at Colombo.

The minister condoled the death of the ministry employee of over 29 years, via Twitter on Sunday. This tweet was retweeted by former foreign ministers Ahmed Naseem and Dunya Maumoon.

He also personally called Asif's family and close relatives to extend his sympathies as well.

Prior to his death, Asif served as the 2nd Secretary of Maldives High Commission at Colombo.

Asif had served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 29 years. He had passed away on Sunday night while undergoing treatment for a kidney disease.
