Cancer Society of Maldives has concluded a successful ‘Pink Ribbon Run-Walk', with hundreds of participants across the country.
The event was held on Saturday, in Hulhumalé and 28 other islands with Bank of Maldives (BML) branches; the event was sponsored by the bank.
Around 150 BML staff members were involved in organizing the run-walk.
Certificates were awarded to the participants afterwards.
While October is marked as breast cancer awareness month, the event was held to raise awareness and funds for cancer screenings and such.
BML said that supporting Cancer Society of Maldives’ event “was an amazing opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer and recognizing the incredible caretakers who are a prominent part of the journey.”
The national bank has been providing assistance to the cancer society since 2016, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy.
