The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) with the preparation of the sub base for football pitches in seven islands.

Minister Ahmed Mahloof signed on behalf of the ministry at the signing ceremony on Wednesday, while CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah signed on behalf of MTCC.

The company is tasked with building a sub base for football pitches in Gan of Laamu atoll, Thinadhoo in Gaaf Dhaal atoll, Thimarafushi in Thaa atoll, Keyodhoo in Vaavu atoll, Hoarafushi in Haa Alif atoll, southernmost Addu City’s Feydhoo district and Fuvahmulah City.

The development project is estimated to cost close to MVR 18 million, revealed MTCC.

Under the agreement, the company is required to complete the project within 60 days from the day of commencement.
