Maldives received bronze in the 55kg Senior Men’s category and the 170cm category

Maldivian bodybuilders have bagged bronze medals in the World Bodybuilding and Physique Championship currently ongoing in South Korea.

Maldives received bronze in the 55kg Senior Men’s category and the 170cm category.

Contenders Mohamed Moosa and Azneen Rashaad won the bronzes in the respective categories.

Following the triumph, Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof had taken to twitter, congratulating the winners for “one of the highest achievements” in the Maldives sports industry.

Moosa and Azneen bagged gold in the 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal in July as well, alongside Ahmed Mahid Saeed.

The first time a Maldivian bodybuilder won gold at the championships event was in 2017 where Shaaheen Ibrahim Didi secured gold in the 55kg category. Although Maldives won gold, silver and bronze medals in previous tournaments, Shaaheen’s was the first in a contest in the South Asian region.
