SIWEC contracted with building sub base for football pitches in three islands

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has contracted Sifainge Welfare Company (SIWEC), a military welfare company, with the preparation of the sub base for football pitches in three islands.

Minister Ahmed Mahloof signed on behalf of the ministry at the signing ceremony on Sunday, while Managing Director, Major Ahmed Zubair signed on behalf of SIWEC.

The company is tasked with building a sub base for football pitches in Hinnavaru, Lhaviyani atoll, Holhudhoo and Kendhikulhudhoo in Noonu atoll.

Under the agreement, the company is required to commence work for the project within 14 days after being contracted, and it needs to complete the project within 60 days from the day of commencement.

SIWEC, a joint venture between the government and Sifainge Cooperative (SIFCO), was formed in August 2012.
