Ambassador of Singapore, Chua Thian Poh has paid a farewell call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The meeting took place at the President’s Office, on Sunday afternoon.
As Chua Thian Poh concludes his four-year tenure as the ambassador to Maldives, the president tanked him “for the many services he has rendered during the ambassadorial tenure and for the singular contributions made to improving bilateral ties between the two countries.”
The President’s Office noted that Singapore has long been an essential development partner to the Maldives, including housing, education and waste management.
President Solih and the ambassador also recounted the many areas in which the Maldives and Singapore cooperate.
Solih also asked the ambassador to relay his gratitude to the Singaporean government “for the gracious hospitality” accorded during his state visit to the nation last July.
Ambassador Chua Thian Poh noted that it was “an honour” to represent his government to the Maldives.
