Chief In formation Officer at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Captain Ibrahim Azim has been promoted.
He was promoted to the rank of Major on Thursday.
Azim was appointed as MNDF's information officer in April 2018.
RaajjeMV understands that a number of security officers were given promotions at a ceremony held on Thursday.
At a press conference held on Wednesday, senior MNDF officials revealed plans to amend its structure including procedures on promotions.
Major is a military rank of commissioned officer status, is one rank senior to that of a captain.
