Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that the two individuals injured in a dangerous road accident late Saturday are receiving treatment for the injuries they attained.
The accident occurred when two motorcycles collided on Majeedhee Magu a little after 1am on Sunday.
While both the 25-year-old Bangladeshi citizen and the 36-year-old Maldivian were rushed to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) immediately, sources report that the Maldivian has since been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of ADK Hospital and his condition is reported serious.
Some media outlets have cited eye witnesses at the scene having reported that there was another man with the Maldivian and that following the accident, he had fled the scene.
Both the Bangladeshi and Maldivian attained several injuries, with the Bangladeshi having attained serious injuries to his face and the Maldivian having attained serious injuries to his brain, including internal bleeding, according to the family.
Police have since taken on investigations into the case.
