19 cases of eating reported on first 15 days of Ramadan

Maldives Police Service has stated that 19 cases of eating have been reported on the 15 days of Ramadan.

12 people have been arrested for eating during fasting times, nine of them were arrested from Male’ while three were arrested from the atolls.

Also, during the first 15 days of the fasting month, 90 people were arrested over theft, 169 were arrested over drug-related cases, and eight were arrested over sexual harassment.

Overall, the police service received 1,841 cases and made 395 arrests during the first 15 days. Most of the cases were drug-related.
