State media begins hosting parliamentary debate show
The purpose of the show is to introduce the candidates to the public and allow them to explain their agenda for specific issues

State media PSM has begun airing a debate show for candidates running in the parliamentary election.
PSM Managing Director Ali Khaleel told RaajjeMV that they will be publicizing the daily schedule of the parliamentary debates.
He said that the purpose of the parliamentary debate show is to introduce the candidates to the public and allow them to explain their agenda for specific issues.
Sunday’s show hosted the debate between the two Hoarafushi candidates Ahmed Saleem, from main ruling party MDP, and incumbent Hoarafushi MP Mohamed Ismail.
On the show, Saleem said MPs need to show integrity by disclosing their financial information and they also need to resign if their integrity is in question.
MP Ismail said that he will be happy if Hoarafushi residents vote for a capable person like Saleem, since both of them aim to bring development to the constituency.
