The spread of dengue fever in Feeali island of Faafu atoll has now been controlled, the island’s health center says. 

Health officer Abdulla Zaeem told RaajjeMV on Wednesday that there have been no new cases and no has shown symptoms of dengue in the past two days. 

Zaeem says that there have been cases of viral fever, although none of them are serious.

Feeali reported an increase in the number of dengue cases observed there; on Friday, the island council said 10 patients have tested positive for dengue.

The 10 patients, all of them children, were brought to capital city Malé for treatment.
